Some of the links below are affiliate links, which means that if you choose to make a purchase, I will earn a commission. This commission comes at no additional cost to you. Please understand that I have experience with all of these companies, and I recommend them because they are helpful and useful, not because of the small commissions I make if you decide to buy something. Please do not spend any money on these products unless you feel you need them or that they will help you achieve your goals.

Money & Investment Resources

BullionStar

Historically, our monetary system are based on traded commodity and commodity-based money where each paper currency are backed by a commodity. It was in 1971 where fiat currency are use globally. Precious metals such as gold and silver are a great form of investment as these are where true wealth are stored. BullionStar is a great platform to kickstart your precious metal investment journey. Personally, I do allocate a portion of my investment into precious metal.

Funding Societies

https://fundingsocieties.com/

Funding Societies is a peer to peer lending platform for Singapore and some of the Southeast Asia region. I have invested a little in these platforms (both Funding Societies Malaysia and Singapore) and the return are fairly attractive. However, do note that high return do come with high risk. You can read more on peer to peer lending and funding societies if you are new to it.

Blogging Resources

Web Hosting & Domain Names

If you are looking to start out your own blog, I would recommend you to get a self-hosted blog. So instead of having a blog ending with ‘.wordpress.com’ or ‘.blogspot.com’, you have a domain ending with ‘.com’.

Hostgator is one the best hosting site you might want to consider. I have hosted 2 sites under HostGator previously and the level of service is exceptional.

Here is why I recommend Hostgator:

  • They have the one-click automatic WordPress Blog installation. Other platforms such as Weebly, Squarespace is available too.
  • 24/7 support system. If you have any technical issues, you can just request for a live chat to get things sort out instantly.
  • Hostgator is a reputable hosting provider.
  • You may choose to pay yearly (cheaper) or monthly. Something Bluehost (another hosting platform) do not offer.

I highly recommend using Hostgator if you are planning to start your own website. Here is a quick guide to set it up yourself.

If you sign up using my link and coupon code ‘INTERESTING60’, you will get 40% off the total hosting plan and domain at price of only $4.99.

 Mailing List

Mailerlite – I use mailerlite to collect emails sign up. They have great features that allow you to send newsletter to your subscribers. At this time being, I am using this as it is free until I have more than 1000 subscribers.

Image Editor And Freelance Service

Pixabay – There are plenty of photos on google but those photos are not free of copyright which means you need permission to use it. Pixabay is an awesome platform to find photos which are free of copyright.

Canva – Looking for a place to create an awesome poster, blog post image, cover photos and etc? Canva allows you to do just that.  It uses drag and drop features in creating amazing graphics. Most of my blog posts image is created using Canva.

Piktochart – Just like canva, Piktochart allows you to create an amazing graphic. Not just any graphics, but info graphics in specific. A good tool if you are looking to illustrate.

Fiverr– Amazing platform to source for quality freelance service at a bargain.

Travelling Resources

Booking Flights

Skyscanner – Commonly used platform to look for the cheapest flights. Love this platform. Just pluck in your origin destination and place you are heading to. A list of flights will appear and you can compare and look for the cheapest one.

Google Flights – Similar to Skyscanner, I occasionally used Google flights as it allows you to look for alternative dates to save a few bucks.

Accommodation

Airbnb – AirBnB is an ideal place to rent an apartment for super cheap and affordable prices. If you don’t use it yet, you should be. Go check it out.

Agoda – Agoda is my favourite platform to book hostel. It allows you to filter hostel based on your needs. You can literally find all sort of hostel here. Super cheap deals.

Workaway – Workaway is another site that allows you to volunteer in exchange for a free accommodation and food too. An ideal options for long term travellers who are seeking for an adventurous experience.

Couchsurfing – Awesome app for hospitality exchange. If you love to meet new locals, you can crash in at local’s house for free. Yes FREE! Check out my post on my experience with couchsurfing
